The meaning of this hat is two-fold:

#1: Four days into a six-day safari, and Charlie hadn’t pulled the trigger once. He and his PH, Dave, had been tracking one very specific kudu bull. At breakfast on the fourth morning, Dave told him about a dream he had the night before of a black mamba with kudu horns. They thought it might be an omen. Later that day, they finally found their old bull and sent him to the salt. America’s got Bigfoot, Mexico has Chupacabra, Ireland touts the Loch Ness Monster, and now South Africa can claim the Mambadu—all you have to do is Believe.

#2: Those of us at FE who are Christians are open about it. Traveling halfway around the world to hunt for six days and spending four of them searching but not shooting will cause you to wrestle with God. Grappling with The Almighty strengthens your faith and reminds us that, no matter the outcome, we’re called to Believe.
