DEVGRU Master Chief Terry Houin knows a thing or two about covert carry and defense in hostile environments. He’s also an experienced global hunter. He drew on both backgrounds to design his version of the ideal travel knife for defense and field chores.
Winkler Knives has a long history with Terry and his ninja friends. They build hard use knives and tomahawks for hard operators that have seen every dark corner of the earth. They were a natural fit for this collaboration.
At just under 8 inches overall with a 3.5-inch hybrid drop point blade, it rides light on the hip but hits well above its weight. Full tang for brute strength. Sculpted thumb ramp and finger groove for control when it’s time to bear down. The curved handle profile disappears IWB or cross-draw. Finished with a white oak handle that’s as tough as it is handsome. This is a do it all knife.

"Knife is great! Have several winklers but this one just holds right in the hand. Good factory edge and perfect size to carry inside or out of the waist. Added benefit is the handle, the white oak looks better in person for sure. Can’t wait to skin with it!"

Out of the box this was sharp as a razor. Put it to good use breasting out ducks about 2 weeks after receiving. "I recently went into Mast General and handled all the Winkler knives they had and honestly none of them were really jiving with me. I decided to take a chance on this knife because I loved the profile and what I had seen on the 60 sec reviews. Dare I say its perfect. Stupid sharp, solid construction, and feels like an extension of your hand. Not to mention, the beautiful sheath it comes with has to be worth over $100 if you were to purchase it separately. Well worth price. I have no doubt this knife will eventually end up in my sons hands and outlast him."
"This blades fit and finish is excellent. I expect it to excel at everything from day to day tasks, up to and including human consumption in a back up or as an interim self defense tool working toward a primary system. The leather sheath is well made and the blade fits well and stays in place. I would like to see a Kydex sheath option and possibly different attachment options."
